I'm sad and depressed but I don't want to show.

Two-Faced GirlI wish I could say you know me.
But you don't really,
do you?
You know a happy girl;
a golden-haired girl
who's best at art,
best in her class,
pretty enough,
always cracks jokes.
You know a tough girl;
a girl who'll play slaps
and only quit after a length
because her own hand hurts
from slapping yours so hard.
(The only way you survive is because
your hand goes numb within
the first few seconds.)
A tough girl who'll only cry
in sad movies,
and those don't really count anyway.
That's the girl you know.
The girl is half of me.
The other half of me is ugly and scarred,
bitter and helpless.
The girl you don't know
wonders if life is worth it
because in relativity to the universe,
she hardly matters at all.
Is her life real or is she dreaming?
But in dreams
you aren't supposed to feel pain
and she feels plenty.
The girl you don't know
only exists at home,
but sometimes you can see her mark fleetingly
before she is gone.

Battle Scars

The Girls I Babysit:
Carly:"What are those? *pointing to my scars on my wrist*"
Me: "They're battle scars."
Anna: "Cool! Can I have some?"
Me: "Please don't ever get some okay? But when you see someone with them like the ones I have on their wrists go hug them. Don't ever make fun of them okay?"
As we're walking around Wal Mart with both of them holding my hands, a young girl walks by us. Carly and Anna go and hug her. She hugs these two adorable little girls back
Girl: "Why are you hugging me?"
Carly: "You have battle scars. *points to her wrists*"
And through her tears she looks up at me and smiles.
